From the archaeologists' camp one approaches the Early Bronze city that covered the lower tell from the lowest point. Looking left, one sees the excavated and reconstructed walls.
The city did not follow the ridge, nor is it on a tell, because its builders wanted the maximum collection of water - in a dry land water is life!
